Josalin's 1st Birthday party (Strawberry Shortcake)
The theme of my baby's party is Strawberry Shortcake...and not that dolled up new version. I'm talking about the cute original version that I grew up loving. (side note..I really don't know why they had to change her look). Anyway I started with the Internet for ideas and came across so many blogs. One in particular that really inspire me was on this blog http://littlepumpkingrace.com I love her style and how she put it all together.
I really wanted my baby to dress like SS.
I started making the hats.
I served fruit, Veggie plate , and chicken salad with croissants.
The sweet shoppe (strawberry waffers, strawberry oreoes, strawberry whoppers, m&ms, and strawberry shaped marshmallows). The guests Each child got to color a SS page. they also had a craft, and it was putting together your own SS paper doll. All pre-cut by my cricut. I set up a scaled down version of Crockett so they can play.
Grandma and Grandpa.
The banner I made. I also made a life banner that had a picture from hours old to 12mths, but was unable to get a good picture of it.I tried so hard to find a cake topper in the version I wanted, but had to go with this one. Drats!!The Goodie bags. I had a great time putting them together. The table with party favors. I also made strawberry lotion for each girl. I also found strawberry water in the baby section of my local grocery store and I made labels for them as well (thank you for coming to my party). The utensil table had water and strawberry crush. I made my own labels for the bottles. The birthday girl.
It was a warm day so I changed her outfit to something cooler. A Strawberry shortcake pillowcase dress I made a week earlier.
I had a great time putting this party together, it was a hit!
